A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO REALLOCATE FUNDS FROM CANCELLED
EVENTS IN THE SUM OF EIGHTY THOUSAND ($80,000.00)
FROM FY2020-2021 GENERAL FUND SPECIAL EVENTS
DIVISION TO COVER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVITIES
AND EVENTS RELATED TO THE 1ST ANNUAL JUNETEENTH
CELEBRATION IN FY2020-2021; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson is requesting reallocation of funds to
support, events and activities related to the Observance and Celebration of 1st Annual
Juneteenth Celebration, and
WHEREAS, a venue, materials, supplies, personnel, Law enforcement and
sound/staging and equipment are necessary for the execution of said event, and
WHEREAS, funding for these items will be supported by the reallocation of
cancelled events from the FY2020-2021 General Fund - Special Events Division, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Wilson is requesting Eighty Thousand Dollars
($80,000) from the FY2020-2021 General Fund - Special Events Division to host the 1st
Annual Juneteenth Drive in style Celebration for the City of Miami Gardens community,
and
WHEREAS, the 1st Annual Juneteenth Drive-in style Celebration will take place at
the Calder Casino, Parking Lot E on Saturday, June 19, 2021
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Wilson recommends that the City Council approve this
resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas para-
graphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made
a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City of Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the reallocation of Eighty Thousand ($80,000.00) from the FY2020-
2021 General Fund - Special Events Division Account, and

Section 4: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 14, 2021.
