A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA ALLOCATING THREE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,500) FROM VICE MAYOR
KATRINA WILSON'S FORMULA ONE COMMUNITY BENEFIT
ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT THE W.I.S.H. FOUNDATION, NUNC
PRO TUNC TO NOVEMBER 11, 2023, PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The W.I.S.H. Foundation as a 501c3 organization, founded in 1988 is
dedicated to fostering positive change and empowerment through a range of impactful
community based initiatives, and
WHEREAS, among these initiatives are life skills and enrichment workshops,
tailored for women recovering from addiction, post secondary scholarships benefiting
deserving young women and men, providing essential meals for underprivileged children,
and mentoring and guiding young girls to emerge as leaders in their communities, and
WHEREAS, The W.I.S.H. Foundation has partnered with local secondary and
postsecondary educational institute within the City of Miami Gardens to include Miami
Norland Senior High School, Miami Carol City Senior High School, and Florida Memorial
University
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Katrina Wilson is requesting the City Council authorize
the allocation of three thousand five hundred dollars ($3,500) from the Seat 4 Formula
One account non pro tunc to cover expenditures associated with the W.I.S.H. Foundation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens herby
authorize the allocation of three thousand five hundred dollars ($3,500) from the Seat 4
Formula One Community Benefit Account nunc pro tunc to cover expenditures associated
with the W.I.S.H. Foundation to November 11, 2023.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 10, 2024.
