A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO APPROVE PURCHASE ORDERS NOT TO
EXCEED $240,000 PER YEAR TO PAVEMENT TECHNOLOGY,
INC. BY RELYING ON THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CITY
OF MARGATE BID NUMBER 2019-009; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens began a resurfacing program throughout
the City to address the aging roadway infrastructure in our neighborhoods, and
WHEREAS, with regards to pavement management, the usual and costly
approach has been to resurface or reconstruct the road with little regards to less costly
preventative maintenance, and
WHEREAS, on August 21, 2019, the City of Margate awarded a contract to
Pavement Technology, Inc., under joint cooperative Bid No. 2019-009 – “Asphalt
Rejuvenation Project” for the cities of Margate, Miami Gardens and Plantation, with the
City of Margate acting as the lead agent, see herein attached Exhibit “A”, and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department recommends that the City Council
approve the City of Margate Resolution Number 19-085 thereby authorizing the City
Manager to issue purchase orders in accordance with the City of Margate contract, to
Pavement Technology Inc., to provide asphalt surface preservation with an asphalt
rejuvenating agent, and
WHEREAS, the sum amount shall not exceed $240,000 per year per the terms of
the contract, and
WHEREAS, all terms, conditions and specifications of the Contract shall remain
as specified and awarded by the City of Margate City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing “WHEREAS”
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPROVAL: The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
issue purchase orders in accordance with City of Margate Bid No. 2019-009, not to
exceed $240,000 per year, to Pavement Technology Inc., to provide asphalt surface
preservation with an asphalt rejuvenating agent.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 9, 2021.
