HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-053-3766_-_Former_Offer_To_Purchase_Property_-_15764_NW_27th_Avenue_-_Adopted_-_PdfRESOLUTION NO. 2022-053-3766 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE A FORMAL OFFER TO PURCHASE THAT REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 15764 NW 27TH AVENUE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,280,000.00); DIRECTING, IN THE EVENT THE SAID OFFER IS ACCEPTED, THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A PURCHASE AND SALE AGREEMENT AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO EFFECTUATE THE PURCHASE OF SAID REAL PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens has identified a parcel of vacant land located at 15764 NW 27th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, Folio #34-2116-013-0060 as a site of development interest to help enhance and increase the value of this currently vacant property and its surrounding area, and WHEREAS, this parcel is currently in negotiations for a sale and the City has experienced considerable growth in the past few years including the development of Top Golf, built on a site previously owned by the City, and WHEREAS, the purchase of this property would give the City control over approximately 59,000 square feet of property in an area ripe for development, and WHEREAS, the City is prepared to make an offer not to exceed One Million Two Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($1,280,000.00) based on recent real estate sales comparables reviewed in the area, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends the City Council approve this resolution, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager to make a formal offer to purchase that real property located at 15764 NW 27th Avenue in an amount not to exceed One Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,280,000.00). The City Council also hereby directs, in the event the said offer is accepted, the City Manager to negotiate and execute a Purchase and Sale Agreement and take all necessary steps to effectuate the purchase of said real property.
