COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING MIAMI-DADE COUNTY’S EFFORTS TO CODESIGNATE NORTHWEST 42ND AVENUE FROM 167TH STREET TO 199TH STREET AS “BISHOP ISAIAH S. WILLIAMS
JR. BOULEVARD.” Staff Summary: City Council recently adopted an Ordinance preventing the renaming or conaming of any portion of 183rd Street also known as “Miami Gardens Drive,” due
to the fact that this street is the City’s namesake. Recently, Miami-Dade County initiated a proposal whereby Northwest 42nd Avenue from 167th Street to 199th Street would be codesignated
as “Bishop Isaiah S. Williams Jr. Boulevard.” The City of Miami Gardens wishes to support that effort. Recommendation: Councilwoman Barbara Watson, recommends that the City Council approve
the attached resolution. Attachment: Add On Item: Resolution Supporting the renaming NW 42nd Ave
