INVOKING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 6.03 OF THE CHARTER OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY IN ORDER TO AMEND SECTION 6.2(B) OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS; REQUESTING THAT THE SUPERVISOR
OF ELECTIONS SUBMIT THE BALLOT QUESTION TO THE VOTERS AT THE AUGUST 24, 2010 GENERAL ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Staff Summary:
In accordance with Section 6.1 and 6.2 of the City of Miami Gardens Charter, the City’s Charter Revision Commission has recommended amending Section 6.2(B) of the Charter to prohibit
City staff and Council members, other than the non-voting City Council members, to be appointed by the Mayor from serving on the Charter Revision Commission. This Resolution directs
that the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections submit the question on the ballot at the general election to be held on August 24, 2010. Proposed Action: ITEM J-7) CONSENT AGENDA
