A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COMPLETE
STREETS INITIATIVE AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
COMPLETE STREETS MANUAL;PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Live Healthy Miami Gardens, in partnership with Urban Health
Partnership, worked with Miami Gardens Public Works and Planning and Zoning
Departments to develop a framework for the Complete Streets Initiative that will address
safe and healthy multi-modal transportation options within the City, and
WHEREAS, the proposed initiative encourages the design, planning, and
construction of safer and healthier streets and ultimately increases the physical activity,
livability, and vibrancy of communities, and
WHEREAS, this Complete Streets Initiative supports Objective 1.6, Policy 1.6.1 of
the Transportation Element of the City's Comprehensive Development Master Plan, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Complete
Streets Initiative and the development of a Complete Streets Manual,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the Complete Streets Initiative and the development of a Complete
Streets Manual.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 26, 2022.
