A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL
OF THE AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA MUNICIPAL
INSURANCE TRUST (FMIT) FOR WORKERS'
COMPENSATION,GENERAL LIABILITY,PROPERTY AND
FORINSURANCECASUALTY,AND AUTOMOBILE FISCAL
YEAR 2022/2023; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ISSUE NOT TO AMOUNTAN ORDER, PURCHASEA IN
EXCEED, TWO MILLION SEVENTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHT
HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS ($2,079,840) FOR THIS
PURPOSE; OFPROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
(hereinafter Gardens’ Miami WHEREAS, City the “City”)of Workers'
Compensation, General Liability, Property and Casualty, and Automobile Insurance
coverage is up for renewal on October 1, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the City’s Property, Casualty, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance
coverage is provided by the Florida Municipal Insurance Trust (hereinafter “FMIT”), and
WHEREAS, FMIT has provided the City with a renewal proposal for Two Million
Seventy-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Dollars ($2,079,840) for the Fiscal Year
2022/2023, and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding has been appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2022
operating budget for this expense, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends the City Council authorize the renewal of the
FMIT Agreement for Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Property and Casualty,
and Automobile Insurance for Fiscal Year 2022/2023 and authorize the City Manager to
a issue purchase order, in an amount not to exceed, Two Million Seventy-Nine Thousand
Eight Hundred and Forty Dollars ($2,079,840),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the renewal of the Florida Municipal Insurance Trust Agreement for
Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Property and Casualty, and Automobile
Insurance for the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 and authorizes the City Manager to issue a

purchase order, in an amount not to exceed, Two Million Seventy-Nine Thousand Eight
Hundred and Forty Dollars ($2,079,840) for this purpose.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2022.
