A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
RELY UPON STATE OF FLORIDA DIVISION OF MANAGEMENT
SERVICES CONTRACT #43211500-WSCA-15-ACS, TO ISSUE
A PURCHASE ORDER NOT EXCEEDING TWO HUNDRED
FORTY THOUSAND NINTY-FOUR DOLLARS AND FIFTY-ONE
CENTS ($240,094.51) TO CDW-G AN AUTHORIZED
MANUFACTURER RESELLER TO PURCHASE VIDEO WALL
AND COVERT SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY; USING FUNDS
FROM THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND
SECURITY URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI)
GRANT PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami serves as the lead agency and a sub-granting
agency of the City of Miami/Fort Lauderdale Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI), and
WHEREAS, the City is an eligible recipient for grant funding from the Federal
Department of Homeland Security, under the UASI Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, the City was awarded grant funding in the amount of Three Hundred
Twenty-Seven Thousand and Eight Hundred Forty-Four Dollars ($327,844.00) for FY
2021 as part of the 2021 UASI, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department (MGPD) intends to
utilize a portion of the grant funding to purchase video wall and Covert Surveillance
Technology for the Department, and
WHEREAS, the overall goal of this project is to procure innovative technology and
covert surveillance equipment that can be rapidly deployed during the investigation of
person(s) or group(s) of interest, and
WHEREAS, the purchase of this equipment will allow for rapid deployment of
covert surveillance tools, prevent delays in real-time information being obtained, and
allow the MGPD’s Real Time Crime Center the capability to be a unified command
regionally when needed, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to
rely upon the State of Florida Division of Management Services contract #43211500-
WSCA-15-ACS to purchase the equipment for the video wall and Covert Surveillance
Technology Project in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Forty Thousand Ninty-Four
Dollars and Fifty-One Cents ($240,094.51).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order for an amount not to
exceed Two Hundred Forty Thousand Ninty-Four Dollars and Fifty-One Cents
($240,094.51) to CDW-G an authorized manufacturer reseller by relying on State of
Florida Division of Management Services Contract #43211500-WSCA-15-ACS to
purchase the video wall and Covert Surveillance Technology Project using UASI grant
funds.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 10, 2023.
