FERGUSON COMPLEX IN MEMORY OF GENESIS JACQLYN JAMES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Staff Summary: Background Genesis Jacqlyn James, born to Tanya and Kwaku James, lived a brief but memorable life. Tanya James, the Fitness Fitness Director at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Center, worked diligently in getting the fitness center up and running at full capacity, while taking care of an ailing child. Against the odds given by the doctors at birth Genesis proved them wrong, and lived to be eight years old. From November 10, 2002 to June 5, 2011, she tought many how to love and live unconditionally, giving more than she asked for. Sadly, after a short time here, Genesis passed away, leaving her parents, siblings, family, and friends not to grieve but to remember her joy in living each moment. Employees at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreation Center, and in the Parks and Recreation Department came out in full support of Tanya for her daughter Genesis, who had an impact in all their lives.
