A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING AN ALLOCATION
OF SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS FROM MAYOR
RODNEY HARRIS' PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN SUPPORT OF CRIMSON CLASSIC: A DELTA DAY
SOIREE PRESENTED BY THE DADE COUNTY ALUMNAE
CHAPTER OF DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY,
INCOPORATED, TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2024,
FROM 4PM TO 8PM. PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting an allocation of Seven Hundred
and Fifty dollars ($750.00) from his Public Affairs Special Events Account to donate in
support of the "Crimson Classic: A Delta Day Soiree" presented by the Dade County
Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and
WHEREAS, this event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 4pm - 8pm,
at the Urban, and
WHEREAS, the proceeds from this event will support an academic scholarship
fund that students located in Miami Gardens and throughout Miami-Dade County can
apply for and receive to further their education, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) from Mayor
Rodney Harris’ Public Affairs Special Events Account in support of the Crimson Classic:
A Delta Day Soiree presented by the Dade County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Incorporated to held on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 24, 2024.
