A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, IN SUPPORT OF THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MIAMI GARDENS AMBASSADOR
PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, As the City of Miami Gardens which is rapidly becoming one of the
fastest growing international destinations in Miami-Dade county, Vice Mayor Katrina
Wilson, proposes a partnership with Miami Dade County’s highly successful Goodwill
Ambassador Program of the Miami Dade Community Relations Board, and
WHEREAS, The goal is to provide comprehensive training and development for
residents, city staff, business members and high school students who wish to volunteer
as Ambassadors for the City of Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, The program’s training will cover various aspects such as interacting
with the public, conflict resolution, crisis management, crowd control, public safety
management, responsiveness, responsibility and peacekeeping. Additionally, this
initiative will not only benefit the community but also provide valuable opportunities for
personal and professional development for program participants, and
WHEREAS, The overarching goal is to enhance the overall experience for
residents and visitors while positively impacting the safety, well-being, and reputation of
the City of Miami Gardens and Miami Dade County at large, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Wilson recommends that the City Council approve this
resolution, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: It is recommended that Council approve this
Resolution supporting the implementation of the Miami Gardens Ambassador Program.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 24, 2024.
