A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FIVE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS ($5,550.00) FROM
COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEON’S FORMULA ONE COMMUNITY
BENEFIT ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT COCONUT CAY ANNUAL
GRADUATES PARADE AND COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a good education is one of the best opportunities a student has to
reach their highest potential, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon believes in empowering students to grow,
learn, and to continue to strive for a brighter future, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Leon is requesting the City Council authorize funds to be
donated to the Coconut Cay annual graduates’ parade for their digital display and
community scholarship taking place June 17, 2024, and
WHEREAS, the Coconut Cay annual graduates’ parade and community
scholarship is an event that focuses on students’ achievements where they can be
acknowledged for their successful completion of school as well as aims to provide
tangible support for their future endeavors, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting Five Thousand Five Hundred
and Fifty Dollars ($5,550.00) from his Formula One Community Fund account for the
purpose of supporting Coconut Cay Annual Graduates’ Parade and Community
Scholarship,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates Five Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($5,550.00) from Seat 2
Formula One Community Benefit Account to support Coconut Cay Annual Graduates
Parade and Community Scholarship.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
