A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION
OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000) FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN “LADY” IGHODARO’ S PUBLIC
AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENT ACCOUNT IN SUPPORT OF
BEAUTY4ASHES 10TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE BEING HELD
ON MAY 17-18, 2024; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Grief seems to strike our families more than we would like to admit,
and this deep emotional sorrow and suffering can cause a downward spiral of events that
can potentially lead to ongoing illness; and
WHEREAS, although we all know that death is inescapable, very seldom are we
emotionally prepared to deal with it. BEAUTY4ASHES, a conference for grieving women
and girls is embarking upon 10 years of impactful existence. Beauty4ashes is designed
to bring a level of healing and help to those women and girls that are grieving the loss of
loved ones; and
WHEREAS, the 10th Annual BEAUTY4ASHES Conference is hosted by the Non-
Profit Organization BeYound Ser Inc.; and
WHEREAS, this conference will provide safe platforms where support through
activities, dialogue, inspiration, and workshops. The success is measured by the follow-
up of letters, calls, and testimonies of those who attend, and by family, who have
witnessed a tremendous change; and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Ighodaro is requesting to allocated Two Thousand
Dollars ($2,000.00) from the Seat 3 Special Events Account for the purpose of Donating
to the Beauty4ashes Conference for May 17th - 18th, 2024.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from the Seat 3
Special Events Account to BeYound SER Inc. in support of the BEAUTY4ASHES
Conference.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 24, 2024.
