A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO RELY ON THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MODULAR HOME
SITE PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT “4”, TO PROVIDE NEW RESIDENTIAL HOUSING FOR
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED AND
THIRTY FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIX
DOLLARS AND THIRTY CENTS ($334,436.30) PER UNIT FROM
JOURNEY C&D GROUP INC.; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens has a multitude of vacant and undeveloped
properties that are otherwise zoned and/or approved for development, or in its current
condition is unusable for the purposes allowed by local zoning, or is not being productively
used for those purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Community Development Department
desires to piggyback a competitively solicited City of Hallandale Beach Community
Redevelopment Agency Modular Home Site Preparation and Installation Development
Agreement for the purpose of delivering housing solutions under the applicable action
plan strategies, and
WHEREAS, properties for this purpose will be identified through the City’s Vacant
Property Acquisition Program (VPAP), and
WHEREAS, Section 2-757(b)(2) of the City of Miami Gardens Code of Ordinances
provides an exemption from the bidding requirements when the purchase of commodities
or services is from contracts previously awarded by other governmental entities that were
competitively bid, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Community Development Department is
requesting authorization to piggyback the City of Hallandale Beach Community
Redevelopment Agency Modular Home Site Preparation and Installation Development
Agreement to provide new residential housing for an amount not to exceed Three
Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty Six Dollars and Thirty Cents
($334,436.30) per unit from Journey C&D Group Inc., and
WHEREAS, funds will be expensed to Account Number 103-13-01-513-991-00,
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to rely on the City of Hallandale Beach Community
Redevelopment Agency Modular Home Site Preparation and Installation Development
Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “4”, to provide new residential
housing for an amount not to exceed Three Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand Four
Hundred and Thirty Six Dollars and Thirty Cents ($334,436.30) per unit from Journey
C&D Group Inc.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 22, 2024.
