A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS’ COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACCOUNT
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($3,000) IN SUPPORT OF PAIGE AND FRIENDS
HELPING HANDS, INC.; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, since their beginnings in 2000, Paige and Friends Helping Hands, Inc.
is driven by the ideas they were initially founded upon: support, empowerment, and
progress, and
WHEREAS, Paige and Friends Helping Hands, Inc. strives to be a catalyst for
positive change and stand in the gap during times of need.
WHEREAS, Paige and Friends Helping Hands, Inc. has a team of volunteers that
provide tutoring, STEM education camps, and mentoring to youth in our community,
where they focus on hands-on learning with real-world applications helps develop a
variety of skill sets, including creativity and 21st-century skills, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Robert Stephens is requesting funds from his Community
Benefit Account in the amount of $3,000.00 to support Paige and Friends Helping Hands,
Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) from Councilman
Stephens’ Community Benefit Account #116-19-01-519-492-06 to support Paige and
Friends Helping Hands, Inc.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 8, 2024.
