A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE
NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME WATCH PROGRAMS IN THE
RESIDENTIAL AREA 3; AUTHORIZING A DONATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00)
FROM COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN "LADY" IGHODARO'S
PUBLIC BENEFIT ACCOUNT WITH FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($5,000.00) EACH TO BUNCHE PARK, SCOTT LAKES,
RAINBOW PARK, AND CRESTVIEW/ROLLING OAKS CRIME &
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAMS; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Crime watch programs allow communities to come together to take
responsibility for their neighborhoods and prevent crime, and
WHEREAS, practicing crime safety measures eliminates opportunities for
criminals and helps others avoid becoming victims of crime, and
WHEREAS, the active crime watch programs in the City of Miami Gardens
organize monthly meetings where residents voice concerns or present prevention and
solution ideas to potential or current problems, and
WHEREAS, in an effort to support the local organizations that help reduce crime
in the community Councilwoman Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro would like to make a donation
of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) each to Bunche Park, Scott Lake, Rainbow Park,
and Crestview/Rolling Oaks Crime & Neighborhood Watch Programs from the Seat 3
Community Benefit Account,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports the Neighborhood Crime Watch Programs in the Residential Area 3. The
City further authorizes a donation in the amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00)
from Councilwoman Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro’ s Public Benefit Account with Five
Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) each to Bunche Park, Scott Lakes, Rainbow Park, and
Crestview/Rolling Oaks Crime & Neighborhood Watch Programs.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 12, 2024.
