A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SECOND
RENEWAL OF ITB NO. 19-20-014, PURCHASE AND DELIVERY
STANDARD ISSUE WEAPONS WITH GT DISTRIBUTORS, INC;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS NOT TO EXCEED THE ANNUAL BUDGETED
AMOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department has a need to purchase
Glock pistols on an as-needed, when-needed basis through a term contract, with licensed
fire arms distributor(s) GT Distributors, Inc., and
WHEREAS, an invitation to Bid No.19-20-014 Purchase and Delivery Standard
Issue Weapons for the police department was advertised via BidSync on March 19, 2020,
and
WHEREAS, City Council approved the award of ITB No 19-20-014 Purchase and
Delivery Standard Issue Weapons for Police Department on July 22, 2020, and
WHEREAS, the initial term of the contract is for three (3) years with the option to
renew for two (2) years with one (1) year periods and this is the second (2nd) renewal
option of two (2) contract renewals, and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City Council approve staff’s
recommendation for the second renewal for ITB #19-20-014 Purchase and Delivery
Standard Issue Weapons for the police department to GT Distributors, Inc.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the second renewal of ITB NO. 19-20-014, Purchase and Delivery
Standard Issue Weapons with GT Distributors, Inc. and authorizes the City Manager to
issue
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
