1515 NW 167 Street, Building 5 Suite 200 Miami Gardens, Florida 33169 Staff Summary: Miami-Dade County is currently developing an automated program to expedite the processing of prisoners
being booked into the Dade County Jail. The program is being funded using federal grant dollars and is being mutually facilitated through the Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs
of Police. Each of the thirty-four police departments in Miami-Dade County are participating in this program and are updated on the process regularly. As part of the program, it has
been determined that each agency, including the Miami Gardens Police Department, will have to acquire an interface with the automated program and the agency’s proprietary Records Management
System (RMS) which in the case of MGPD is SunGard OSSI. The cost of the interface for the Department’s RMS will be reimbursed from the Byrne grant administered by Miami-Dade County.
The maximum amount payable under this project is $11,364.00. The purchase of this interface is imperative to the successful implementation of the program and participation by the city
of Miami Gardens. Proposed Action: That the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with the Miami-Dade County to seek reimbursement
in the amount of $11,364.00 through the Byrne Grant Program for the interface portion of the Automated A-Form Program. Attachment: Attachment A: Miami-Dade County Contract for Reimbursement
