HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-217-2291_-_Seat_1_Community_Benefit_Reallocation_-_Adopted.docxRESOLUTION NO. 2024-217-2291 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE REALLOCATION OF SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR DOLLARS AND SEVENTY-TWO CENTS ($684.72) TO RESIDENTIAL SEAT 1 COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The Pink Parade event, previously scheduled to promote breast cancer awareness and honor those affected by the disease, was allocated $10,000 for event-related expenses. However, due to circumstances surrounding the event’s execution, these funds were not expended, and WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Baskin is requesting the reallocation of the $684.72 from the Pink Parade event to the Residential Seat 1 Community Benefit Account. This adjustment will allow the funds to be used for other community benefit initiatives within the same fiscal year. The reallocated funds will continue to support the councilwoman’s ongoing efforts to benefit the Miami Gardens community, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby reallocates funds from the Pink Parade event to Seat 1 Community Benefit account for six hundred eighty-four dollars and seventy-two cents ($684.72), Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
