A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO TERRY
TAYLOR'S DELAND NISSAN, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF
ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTEEN
DOLLARS ($75,616.00) BY RELYING ON FLORIDA SHERIFFS’
ASSOCIATION CONTRACT #FSA24-VEL32.0., A COPY OF
WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AS ATTACHMENT "1";
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in pursuance of the City of Miami Garden's efforts to increase and
encourage the use of clean energy in the City, staff submitted an application to the United
States Department of Energy under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant
(“EECBG”) Program Equipment Rebate Voucher Program for funding to procure electric
vehicle charging stations, and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Energy approved the city's application and
provided funding of up to $155,250, and
WHEREAS, on September 18, 2024, the City Council, under Resolution No. 2024-
146-2220, approved acceptance of the awarded grant and authorized the City Manager
to execute all agreements and contracts required for the implementation of the grant, and
WHEREAS, Staff is proposing the purchase of two (2) electric vehicles for use by
assigned City staff, utilizing Florida Sheriffs Association Contract Number #FSA24-VEL
32.0 to purchase from Terry Taylor's Deland Nissan, Inc., not to exceed Seventy Five
Thousand Six Hundred Sixteen Dollars ($75,616.00) , and
WHEREAS, the Office of Procurement Management supports the City's Public
Works Department request to piggyback the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract
Number #FSA24-VEL 32.0 Pursuit, Administrative, and other Vehicles (Item #80) for two
(2) Electric Vehicles pursuant to City of Miami Gardens, procurement code Section 2-757
(2) which allows the City to enter into competitively solicited contracts by other
governmental agencies, and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City Council approve the request to
piggyback the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract Number #FSA24-VEL 32.0 Pursuit,
Administrative, and other Vehicles (Item #80) for the Purchase of two (2) electric vehicles
and authorize the City Manager to issue Purchase Order(s) as needed not to exceed the
budgeted amounts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the City Manager to issue purchase order to Terry Taylor’s Deland
Nissan, Inc., for the purchase of electric of vehicles in an amount not to exceed seventy
five thousand six hundred sixteen dollars ($75,616.00) by relying on Florida Sheriffs
Association Contract #FSA24-VEL32.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 11, 2024.
