A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION
OF FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4,000.00) FROM MAYOR
RODNEY HARRIS' SPECIAL EVENTS' ACCOUNT IN SUPPORT
OF HIS 2025 HOLIDAY SEASON INITIATIVES THAT INCLUDES
A THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON FOR SENIOR RESIDENTS AND
TOY GIVEAWAYS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGED
STUDENTS IN THE CITY. PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting authorization to allocate Four
Thousand Dollars (4,000.00) from his Special Events account in support of his 2025
Holiday season initiatives, and
WHEREAS, annually, Mayor Rodney Harris sponsors a Thanksgiving luncheon for
seniors residing a Robert Sharpe Towers, located at 103 NW 202 Terrace, Miami
Gardens, FL 33169, Mayor Harris will host the Thanksgiving luncheon this year on
Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 11:30 am to 2pm at Robert Sharpe Towers, and
WHEREAS, in addition to the mayor's Thanksgiving luncheon, annually, the mayor
puts smiles on the faces of children from our community during the Christmas holidays
as he partners with "The Show Some Love Foundation", Incorporated, sponsoring toys
for elementary age students whose families deeply appreciate the support during the
holiday season, and
WHEREAS, many families cannot afford to provide a joyous experience for their
children with cost-of-living increases and our nation's government unable to function
properly amidst its current shut down, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris understands the challenges and pressures that
come with the approach of the holiday season, it is the mayor's hope to help alleviate
some of the concerns by providing an uplift to seniors and children of our community, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize allocating Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) from Mayor Rodney
Harris’ Special Events in support of his 2025 Holiday initiatives.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 12, 2025.
