A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM SEAT 5, COMMUNITY
BENEFIT ACCOUN, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00), TO SUPPORT THE CITY’S
PARTICIPATION IN GIVE MIAMI DAY; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Give Miami Day is a countywide philanthropic initiative hosted by The
Miami Foundation that unites individuals, businesses, and organizations in a shared effort
to support charitable causes and nonprofit organizations throughout Miami-Dade County;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens has previously participated in Give Miami
Day to highlight community programs, foster civic engagement, and promote partnerships
with local nonprofit organizations serving the City’s residents; and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien recommends authorizing the expenditure
of up to five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) from the Seat 5 Community Benefit general
line-item account (116-19-01-519-492-05), which currently totals twenty-one thousand
dollars ($21,000.00), to support the City’s 2025 Give Miami Day activities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that participation in Give Miami Day advances
the City’s mission of supporting community growth, civic responsibility, and collaboration
with charitable organizations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the
expenditure of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) from Councilwoman Linda Julien’s Seat
5, Community Benefit general line-item account number 116-19-01-519-492-05 to be
used for donations to various non-profit organization participating in Give Miami Day
within the city boundaries.
Section 3: The City Manager or his designee is directed to execute this resolution
upon its passage through all means available in the execution of the resolution.

Section 4: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
