A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN EXCEPTION TO
THE CLEAN ZONE ORDINANCE FOR THE COLLEGE
FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ON MONDAY,
JANUARY 19, 2026; REQUIRING THE EVENT ORGANIZER TO
PAY ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENFORCEMENT OF THE
CLEAN ZONE; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Hard Rock Stadium is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment
venue in the City of Miami Gardens that hosts major events; and
WHEREAS, the Clean Zone Ordinance, as amended, allows for exceptions by
Resolution, and any additional costs incurred by the City for enforcement of the Clean
Zone must be borne by the Event Organizer, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien recommends approval of the attached
Resolution granting an exception to the Clean Zone Period for the College Football
National Championship Game, which will be hosted at Hard Rock Stadium on Monday,
January 19, 2026, and
WHEREAS, the Clean Zone Period will begin up to seven days before the event
and conclude no later than two days (48 hours) after the scheduled end time, and
WHEREAS, this extension is intended to enhance public safety, reduce
congestion, and protect residents and businesses during periods of elevated activity
surrounding major events at Hard Rock Stadium, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is recommending approval of this Resolution as
it supports the City’s Strategic Plan objectives by strengthening public safety, mobility,
and operational efficiency during major events at Hard Rock Stadium,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby approves an exception to the Clean Zone Ordinance for the College Football
National Championship game on Monday, January 19, 2026. Further authorize the City
Manager to determine what are the cost and what they would be for said event.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
