A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF MIAMI GARDENS,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RELY
UPON FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA PUBLIC SAFETY AND
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RELATED SERVICES
CONTRACT NUMBER 4400008468 TO ISSUE A PURCHASE
ORDER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED
THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE
DOLLARS AND TWENTY-EIGHT CENTS ($134,929.28) TO
SAFEWARE, INC. TO REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL
BOARDS FOR THE BUILDING ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in response to aging infrastructure and the need to maintain building
security, the IT Department is undertaking a project to replace all obsolete electronic
control boards for the building access control system, and
WHEREAS, the equipment is critical for managing door access through badge
readers and ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City of Miami Gardens, Code of Ordinances Section 2-
757, the City may enter into competitively solicited contracts, and
WHEREAS, the IT Department seeks to piggyback Fairfax County, VA Public
Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Related Services Contract Number
4400008468, to issue a purchase order to Safeware, Inc. to replace the electric control
boards for the building access control system, and
WHEREAS, the sum amount of the purchase order is One Hundred Thirty-Four
Thousand, Nine Hundred Twenty-Nine Dollars and Twenty-Eight Cents ($134,929.28),
and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to rely
upon Fairfax County, VA Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Related
Services Contract Number 4400008468, to issue a purchase order to Safeware, Inc. in
the amount of One Hundred Thirty-Four Thousand, Nine Hundred Twenty-Nine Dollars
and Twenty-Eight Cents ($134,929.28), to replace the electric control boards for the
building access control system, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to rely upon Fairfax County, VA Public Safety and
Emergency Preparedness and Related Services Contract Number 4400008468, to issue
a purchase order to Safeware, Inc. in the amount of One Hundred Thirty-Four Thousand,
Nine Hundred Twenty-Nine Dollars and Twenty-Eight Cents ($134,929.28), to replace the
electric control boards for the building access control system.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 10, 2025.
