A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000) FROM
COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEON’S COMMUNITY BENEFIT
ACCOUNT IN SUPPORT OF ONGOING COMMUNITY
INITIATIVES; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon routinely champions initiatives that greatly
benefits the residents of the City; these efforts focus on advancing educational
opportunities and supporting community-centered programs that encourage
engagement, development, and positive outcomes for individuals and families across all
age groups., and
WHEREAS, among the initiatives supported are seasonal community outreach
efforts such as community and school fundraisers, non-profit programs, and support local
community events, along with additional programs designed to promote civic pride,
volunteerism, and educational advancement throughout the City, and
WHEREAS, Funding support will allow for the continuation and expansion of these
efforts, including but not limited to Trayvon Martin Foundation's Annual Remembrance
Gala, 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project scholarship fundraiser, Norland
Elementary School, Stepping with A Purpose community event, and Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc.'s Southern Region State Cluster Workshop Sponsorship, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is seeking approval of a sponsorship in an
amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) from his Community Benefit
Account (116-19-01-519-92-02) to assist with the implementation of ongoing community
initiatives, activities, and associated materials, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation of an amount of sixteen thousand ($10,000) dollars from
Councilman Reggie Leon’s Community Benefit account (116-19-01-519-92-02)
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
