A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN MICHELLE C. POWELL COMMUNITY
BENEFIT ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TEN
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000) IN SUPPORT OF ONGOING
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF RESPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in an ongoing effort to encourage civic engagement and strengthen
community connections, Councilwoman Michelle C. Powell is requesting the allocation of
funds in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) from her Community
Benefit Account (116-19-01-519-492-03), and
WHEREAS, these funds will support a variety of initiatives and events that promote
civic engagement, which may include recognition ceremonies, wellness and enrichment
programs, and service-driven projects, and
WHEREAS, the allocation will help cover essential event-related expenses such
as supplies, entertainment, promotional materials, and other logistical components that
contribute to a successful and impactful experience; it will also include funds to provide
scholarships and support students by providing essential back to school supplies, and
WHEREAS, this initiative reflects Councilwoman Powell’s continued commitment
to enhancing the quality of life for all residents by ensuring access to inclusive, uplifting,
and meaningful programming throughout the City of Miami Gardens, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000)
from Councilwoman Michelle Powell’s Community Benefit account.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 28, 2026.
