A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
MAYOR RODNEY HARRIS' COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACCOUNT
IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000) IN
SUPPORT OF THE MAYOR'S SPRING AND SUMMER SEASON
INITIATIVES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025 - 2026; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting allocation of Ten Thousand dollars
($10,000.00) from his community benefit's account to support youth and community
initiatives during the Spring and Summer season for 2025 to 2026 fiscal year, and
WHEREAS, Community Initiatives that will be supported, but not limited to, are the
following, Miami Garden’s Barbara Hawkins Elementary 5th grade class camping trip,
Glitz and Girlpower women empowerment and scholarship organization that supports
young ladies in Miami Gardens, and the King Carter Youth Foundation’s Spring youth
camp to be held at Betty T. Ferguson Recreation Complex, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize allocating Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) from Mayor Rodney
Harris’ Community Benefit account to support youth and community initiatives during the
Spring and Summer season for fiscal year 2025/2026 fiscal year
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 11, 2026.
