A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS IN THE AMOUNT
OF SIX HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS ($623,790.00) TO METRO
EXPRESS, INC. FOR RESURFACING OF THE PARKING LOTS
AT THE BETTY T. FERGUSON RECREATION CENTER;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, City staff has determined the immediate need to repave the existing
North parking lot, East parking lot, and South drive areas at the Betty T. Ferguson
Recreation Center, as depicted in Exhibit “A”, areas A, B, and C, and
WHEREAS, on March 24, 2021, the City Council awarded Invitation to Bid (ITB)
Number 20-21-001—Citywide Drainage Improvements Project—via Resolution 2021-
028-3583 to Metro Express, Inc., as the primary vendor and ATC Engineering, Inc., and
National Concrete and Paving, LLC., as the secondary vendor, and approved the most
recent renewal on March 26, 2025 via Resolution 2025-035-2337, and
WHEREAS, Metro Express, Inc., provided pricing to staff for the scope of work
(Exhibit B) in the amount of $623,790.00, AND
WHEREAS, Staff has determined that the pricing is inclusive of the discussed
scope,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders in the amount of Six
Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Dollars ($623,790.00) to Metro
Express, Inc., for resurfacing of the parking lots at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreation
Center.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
