A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO PIGGYBACK GSA CONTRACT NO. GS-07F-
169DA TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO LENCO
INDUSTRIES, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE
HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
EIGHTY-NINE DOLLARS ($394,589.00) FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A TACTICAL ARMORED VEHICLE FOR THE MIAMI
GARDENS POLICE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department is in need of a tactical
armored vehicle, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City of Miami Gardens, Code of Ordinances Section 2-
757, the City may enter into competitively solicited contracts when doing so is in the best
interest of the City, and
WHEREAS, Lenco Industries Inc. is the provider of the Lenco BearCat tactical
armored vehicle in the United States and Internationally, and
WHEREAS, staff seeks to piggyback GSA Contract no. GS-07F-169DA to issue
a purchase order to Lenco Industries Inc. to purchase a tactical armored vehicle for the
Miami Gardens Police Department, and
WHEREAS, the sum amount of the purchase order is Three Hundred Ninety-Four
Thousand and Five Hundred Eighty-Nine Dollars ($394,589.00), and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
piggyback GSA Contract no. GS-07F-169DA to issue a purchase order to Lenco
Industries Inc. in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand and
Five Hundred Eighty-Nine Dollars ($394,589.00) for the purchase of a tactical armored
vehicle for the Miami Gardens Police Department, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to piggyback GSA Contract no. GS-07F-169DA to

issue a purchase order to Lenco Industries Inc. in an amount not to exceed Three
Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand and Five Hundred Eighty-Nine Dollars ($394,589.00) for
the purchase of a tactical armored vehicle for the Miami Gardens Police Department.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
