A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE 2ND ANNUAL
AUTISM SUPER POWERS FAMILY FUN DAY BEING HELD ON
MARCH 28, 2026; WAIVING ALL FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE
USAGE OF THE CITY’S SHOWMOBILE; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting social
communication, behavior, and sensory processing, with varying symptoms among
individuals, and impacting approximately 1 in 45 adults in the United States and 4 in 100
boys and 1 in 100 girls; and
WHEREAS, the City will host the 2nd Annual Autism Superpowers Parade & Music
Festival on March 28 to promote awareness, inclusion, and acceptance within the Miami
Gardens community; and
WHEREAS, many individuals on the autism spectrum experience social
challenges, and the 2nd Annual Autism Superpowers Parade & Music Festival will
support awareness and inclusion, with the event taking place on March 28 at State
Senator Oscar Braynon II Park at Rolling Oaks; and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Wilson recommends that the City Council approve
waiving all fees associated with the usage of the city’s showmobile in support of the 2nd
Annual Autism Superpowers Parade & Music Festival, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize waiving all fees associated with the usage of the city’s showmobile in
support of the 2nd Annual Autism Superpowers Parade & Music Festival that will taking
place on March 28, 2026.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 25, 2026.
