Staff Summary: ITEM K-11) CONSENT AGENDA RESOLUTION Awarding a bid to All American Sports Corporation 1515 NW 167 Street, Building 5 Suite 200 Miami Gardens, Florida 33169 Background As the City of Miami Gardens Youth Sports (CMGYS) Football and Cheerleading program goes into it’s third year of exsistence, there is a need to replace or recondition various pieces of equipment that have been damaged throughout the past two seasons, and that are no longer certified for use. In an effort to provide safe football equipment for the CMGYS the City solicited bids to obtain the products from a responsible vendor. The equipment included new football helmets, reconditioning of existing football helmets, replacement faceguards, mouthguards, sideline kits and emblems. These pieces of equipment comprise a total of 4,770 items. City Staff prepared specifications and advertised an Invtitation to Bid (ITB) on May 1, 2012. A broadcast notice was sent to 191 vendors. Eleven (11) vendors requested bid packages. The bids were opened on May 17, 2012. Five (5) bids were received. A copy of the proposal document and submittals are available at the Assistant to the Mayor and Council’s office for review. Current Situation Bids were evaluated for compliance with specifications and compliance with vendor’s ability to provide needed quantity as stated in the ITB. The bid tabulation sheet attached. Based on the evaluations, City Staff is recommending award to All American Sports Corporation of Elyria, OH for the products needed. The total annual contract amount will be for $64,356.00. The initial term of the contract is for two (2) years, with a two (2) year renewal option. The resolution seeks the City Council’s approval authorizing the City Manager to execute the required purchase order. Proposed Action: That the City Council approve the attached resolution.
