A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS FOR A YOUTH CIVIC
ENGAGEMENT SESSION WITH LOCAL STUDENTS TO BE
HELD ON APRIL 23 AND APRIL 29, 2026, RESPECTIVELY;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Robert Stephens, III strives to provide educational and
community enrichment opportunities for our youth to learn and grow through social action,
civic engagement, local leadership, mentorship, and the inner workings of city
government, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Stephens is requesting to use the City Council Chambers
for a youth civic engagement session with local middle and high school students on April
23rd and April 29th, 2026, respectively. The session will include a tour of various city
departments as well as a mock council meeting to be held in the City Council Chambers,
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes use of the City Council Chambers for a youth civic engagement
session to held on April 23rd and April 29th, 2026, respectively.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 22, 2026.
