A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN ALLOCATION
OF THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000.00) FROM MAYOR
RODNEY HARRIS' COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACCOUNT IN
SUPPORT OF THE FLORIDA PARENTS OF MURDERED
CHILDREN, INCORPORATED; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Florida Parents of Murdered Children, Incorporated is a local
organization dedicated to providing programs, advocacy, and support services to parents
and families who have experienced the tragic loss of a child to gun violence in the City of
Miami Gardens and throughout Miami-Dade County, and
WHEREAS, the loss of a child due to violence causes immeasurable grief and
emotional hardship for families and loved ones, creating a need for compassionate
support systems and community resources, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris recognizes and supports the valuable services
provided by Florida Parents of Murdered Children, Incorporated to families in the
community, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Harris is requesting an allocation of Three Thousand Dollars
($3,000.00) from his Community Benefit Account to support their community services,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) from the Mayor’s
Office Community Benefit Account to support Florida Parents of Murdered Children,
Incorporated.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 27, 2026.
