A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS OF ACCESSORY
DWELLING UNITS (ADU); PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, City previously enacted Sections 34-313 through 34-315 of the Code
or Ordinances to permit the use of Accessory Dwelling of Units (ADU), and
WHEREAS, ADU’s are small secondary homes, often called "in-law units," that will
require an initial and subsequent annual permit and inspection to ensure compliance with
regulations set for in the City’s code of Ordinances, and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to establish fees for the initial application for
permitting, annual renewals and inspections to cover the costs to the City for managing
ADU’s, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: ESTABLISHMENT OF FEE: The City Council of the City of Miami
Gardens hereby establishes an initial permit application and inspection fee of $300.00,
an annual renewal and inspection fee of $250.00 and a subsequent re-inspection fee of
$75.00.
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 27, 2026.
