A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST
RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS AND MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY FOR THE PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES, A
COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade Transportation and Public Works Department
requests an interlocal agreement between the City of Miami Gardens and Miami-Dade
County for the provision of on-demand services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens wishes to enhance local mobility through
the provision of locally operated On-Demand Public Transportation Services, and
WHEREAS, these services provide the municipality with an opportunity to match
the local travel needs of the residents while improving first and last-mile connectivity, and
WHEREAS, the proposed On-Demand service will complement the existing Miami-
Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works bus routes and help increase the
use of these regional services, and
WHEREAS, the municipality has sponsored and is willing to provide an alternate
form of supplemental public transportation throughout the municipality and has secured
and obligated the necessary funds to provide, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest, respectively,
that certain interlocal agreement between the City of Miami Gardens and Miami-Dade
County for the provision of On-Demand Services, a copy of which is attached hereto as
Exhibit “A”.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
