A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING JUNE AS
"YOUTH MENTORSHIP APPRECIATION MONTH"; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Baskin recognizes the significant impact that
youth mentors and mentorship organizations have on the lives of young people
throughout the community, and
WHEREAS, their guidance and encouragement for individuals and organizations,
often serving on a volunteer basis, help youth develop the skills, confidence, and
character necessary to succeed in their endeavors, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Baskin recommends that the City Council recognize
youth mentors for their dedication and contributions to the City's overall well-being and
the development of future leaders, and
WHEREAS, Month” Appreciation Mentorship June as designating “Youth
provides an opportunity to formally acknowledge and celebrate the many organizations
and volunteers who invest in the next generation, and
WHEREAS, the City’s appreciation for their this recognition demonstrates
ongoing commitment and highlights the important role mentorship plays in
strengthening our neighborhoods,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby recognizes June as "Youth Mentorship Appreciation Month".
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 24, 2026.
