HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-064-2521_-_Walt_Frazier_Park_Playground_-_Adopted_-_PdfRESOLUTION NO. 2026-064-2521 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF DISTRICT THE SCHOOL TO MANAGER PIGGYBACK MANATEE COUNTY CONTRACT NO. 26-0041-MR BETWEEN BLISS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, INC. AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED FIVE AND SEVENTY NINE SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($569,075.00) TO BLISS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, INC, FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR WALT FRAZIER OF THE ADOPTION PROVIDING PARK; FOR REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, in April 2014, the City of Miami Gardens residents approved a General Obligation Bond (GOB) in the amount of Sixty Million Dollars ($60,000,000) for the construction of and improvements to the City’s parks and related facilities, and WHEREAS, City Council adopted a Bond Implementation Plan that listed improvements to be incorporated into each park project which included the renovation of the Walt Frazier Park, and WHEREAS, on May 16, 2025, The School District of Manatee County, Florida solicited Invitation to Bid (ITB) Number 26-0041-MR for the purchase of Park and Playground Equipment, and WHEREAS, on July 22, 2025, Invitation to Bid (ITB) Number 26-0041-MR was awarded to Bliss Products and Services, Inc and other companies, based on price and the evaluation factors set forth in the solicitation, and WHEREAS, the initial contract period is for a term effective September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2030 and allows for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, and WHEREAS, pursuant to City of Miami Gardens, Code of Ordinances Section 2- 757, the City may enter into competitively solicited contracts when doing so is in the best interest of the City, and WHEREAS, staff seeks to piggyback The School Board of Manatee County, Florida Contract No. 26-0041-MR, Park and Playground Equipment with Bliss Products and Services, Inc. to issue a purchase order to Bliss Products and Services, Inc. for the purchase of a new park and playground equipment for the Walk Frazier Park, and WHEREAS, the sum amount of the purchase order is Five Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand and Seventy Five Dollars ($569,075.00), and Docusign Envelope ID: 73373484-E516-8509-809A-7FC36CC5DFE6 WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to piggyback The School District Manatee County, Florida Contract No. 26-0041-MR between Bliss Products and Services, Inc. and The School Board of Manatee County, Florida to issue a purchase order in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand and Seventy Five Dollars ($569,075.00) to Bliss Products and Services, Inc, for Playground Equipment for the Walt Frazier Park, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager to piggyback The School District Manatee County, Florida Contract No. 26-0041-MR between Bliss Products and Services, Inc. and The School Board of Manatee County, Florida to issue a purchase order in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand and Seventy Five Dollars ($569,075.00) to Bliss Products and Services, Inc, for Playground Equipment for the Walt Frazier Park, Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
