A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO RELY UPON RFQ NO. 24-25-015, PRE-
FOR CONTRACTORS DEMOLITION LIST QUALIFIED OF
SERVICES CITYWIDE TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO
CHIN DIESEL, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR
HUNDRED THIRTY- SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED AND
SEVENTY DOLLARS AND FORTY-FIVE CENTS ($436,570.45)
FOR DEMOLITION SERVICES FOR WALT FRAZIER PARK;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in April 2014, the City of Miami Gardens residents approved a
General Obligation Bond (GOB) in the amount of Sixty Million Dollars ($60,000,000) for
the construction of and improvements to the City’s parks and related facilities, and
WHEREAS, listed that Plan Implementation adopted a Council City Bond
improvements to be incorporated into each park project which included the renovation
of the Walt Frazier Park. The park will be completely renovated, which includes selected
demolition throughout the site, and
WHEREAS, on May 28, 2025 the City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
adopted Resolution No. 2025-063-2365 awarding Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No.
24-25-015, Pre- Qualified List of Contractors for Demolition Services Citywide to Chin
Diesel Inc., The BG Group LLC and Samula Waste Inc. DBA Samula Demolition, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RFQ 24-25-015, on June 9, 2026 staff solicited a
request for price quotation for demolition services from The BG Group LLC, Samula
Waste Inc. DBA Samula Demolition and Chin Diesel Inc., and
WHEREAS, in response to the request for price quotation staff received one
price quotation from Chin Diesel Inc., and
WHEREAS, staff seeks to rely upon RFQ No. 24-25-015, Pre- Qualified List of
Contractors for Demolition Services Citywide to issue a purchase order to Chin Diesel,
Inc. for demolition services for the Walk Frazier Park, and
WHEREAS, the sum amount of the purchase order is Four Hundred Thirty- Six
Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy Dollars and Forty- Five Cents ($436,570.45), and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
rely upon RFQ No. 24-25-015, Pre- Qualified List of Contractors for Demolition Services
Citywide to issue a purchase order to Chin Diesel, Inc. in an amount not to exceed Four

Hundred Thirty- Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy Dollars and Forty- Five
Cents ($436,570.45), for demolition services for the Walt Frazier Park,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to rely upon RFQ No. 24-25-015, Pre- Qualified List
of Contractors for Demolition Services Citywide to issue a purchase order to Chin
Diesel, Inc. in an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand, Five
Hundred and Seventy Dollars and Forty- Five Cents ($436,570.45), for demolition
services for the Walt Frazier Park.
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 24, 2026.
