A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THAT CERTAIN DONATION OF
EQUIPMENT FROM FIFAWC2026 TO SUPPORT CITY
PROGRAMS; A COPY OF THE CONFIRMATION OF DONATION
DETAILS IS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, FIFAWC2026 US, Inc. plans to donate 44 HVAC units, and
WHEREAS, the estimated value of these items is $95,904.00, and
WHEREAS, Section 2-609 of the Code of Ordinances outlines that donations over
$25,000 or consisting of real property, and that are not part of a program intended to be
supported by sponsors’ donations previously approved by the City Council, must be
approved by the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department intends to install these units
as part of the Home Beautification and Minor Rehabilitation Programs, and
WHEREAS, these units will also support the Infill Housing Program, allowing the
City to donate the units to construction projects, reducing overall project budgets and
enabling the saved funds to be utilized for additional projects, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to
accept this donation of equipment from FIFAWC2026 US, Inc., as it supports Pillar H-4,
Rehabilitate Aging Homes, in the Strategic Plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to accept that certain donation of equipment from
FIFAWC2026 to support City Programs.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
