A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.
2026-083-2540; BY AMENDING THE DATE, TIME, AND PLACE
OF THE FIRST PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE
PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE, DEBT SERVICE MILLAGE RATE
AND TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027
ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2026-083-2540; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 22, 2026, the City via Resolution No. 2026-083-2540 set the
date, time and place of the first Public Hearing to consider the proposed millage rate, debt
service millage and tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2026-083-2540 sets the date and time of the first
Budget Hearing as September 9, 2026 at 5:01 pm; and
WHEREAS per the provisions of Section 200.065(2), Florida Statutes, taxing
authorities must schedule their hearings so as not to conflict with the times of the county
commission and school board hearings; and
WHEREAS the City has received notification from the Miami-Dade Property
Appraiser’s Office that the scheduled first Budget Hearing date of September 9, 2026 is
in conflict with the second Budget Hearing date of the Miami-Dade School Board; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended Resolution No. 2026-083-2540 be amended to
change the date of the City’s first Budget Hearing to September 8, 2026 at 5:01pm,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. AMENDMENT OF DATE, TIME AND PLACE OF FIRST PUBLIC
HEARING: The date, time and place of the first public hearing on the proposed millage
rate and tentative budget is set by the City Council as follows:

Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon
