Staff Summary: Background The City of Miami Gardens has three hundred (300) Ford Motor Company cars and trucks in its fleet. The City requires the services of a Ford Motor Com pany factory authorized sales and service centers to 1515 NW 167 Street, Building 5 Suite 200 Miami Gardens, Florida 33169 perform general repairs. Repairs to systems like el ectronic engine controls, supplemental restraint, anti-lock brakes, and hybrid vehicles require factory trained technicians and original equipment parts (OEM). Current Situation The City Staff prepared specifications and solicited for factory authorized sales and service centers on December 10, 2012. Thirteen (13) bids were received and publicly read. A copy of the solicitation document and proposals submitted are available at the assistant to the mayors office and councils office for review. Maroone Ford of Miami was one of the thirteen (13) bids received. The value of the anticipated services to be performed by Maroone For d of Miami exceeds the authorization level of the City Manager and therefore requires City Council appr oval. Maroone Ford of Miami is the closest Ford Motor Company authorized sales and service center. It provides a high level of service at competitive pricing. The attached resolution requests that the City Council authorize the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Maroone Ford of Miami in the amount of $250,000, in accord with ITB#12-13-013 for OEM Parts and Repair Service. The Purchase Order will be for a period of one (1) year. Proposed Action: That the City Council approve the proposed resolution.
