have been made in the treatment of HIV/AIDS and more is known about the disease and its
transmission, there is still much left to do to win the fight against HIV/AIDS. Many people still do not
know how to effectively protect themselves and others from HIV, and the negative stigma and
discrimination associated with this disease remain ever‐present realities.
In the City of Miami Gardens, God’s Amazing Grace Outreach Ministries, Inc. has taken an active
role in attempting to remove the stigma from HIV/AIDS, and dispelling the myths associated with this
disease. Since 2003, God’s Amazing Grace Outreach Ministries has provided HIV/AIDS awareness
education, HIV/AIDS testing, and medical referrals to the City’s residents. On September 18th, God’s
Amazing Grace Outreach Ministries is planning a National HIV/AIDS Awareness and Aging Day Event to
further educate our community about the prevention, transmission, and treatment of HIV/AIDS.
Councilwoman Odom would like to support this event by allocating $5000.00 from Account No.
01‐11‐01‐511‐991‐00, “Working Capital Reserve”, to God’s Amazing Grace Outreach Ministries, Inc. for
their National HIV/AIDS Awareness and Aging Day Event.

support God’s Amazing Grace Outreach Ministries’ National HIV/AIDS Awareness and Aging Day Event.
