FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST, RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT WITH SAFEWARE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) VIDEO SURVEILLANCE TRAILERS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY-SEVEN DOLLARS ($113,197.00), BY RELYING UPON U.S. COMMUNITIES GOVERNMENT PURCHASING ALLIANCE RFP NUMBER 11-205753-10 (4400001839), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department (CMGPD) is tasked with the identification and mitigation of threats in a timely fashion, and WHEREAS, during times of natural or manmade disaster, fixed infrastructure is often damaged and/or not accessible, creating a barrier to carry out this task, and WHEREAS, in order to carry out this duty, CMGPD is proposing the purchase of two (2) video surveillance trailers, and WHEREAS, the two (2) trailers will come fully equipped with the technology to monitor remote locations through closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras mounted on a mast, and WHEREAS, these CCTV cameras will be viewed from the Real Time Crime Center during times of public safety need, and WHEREAS, the total cost for this purchase is One Hundred Thirteen Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars ($113,197.00), and WHEREAS, this purchase will be procured by relying upon RFP Number 11- 205753-10 (4400001839), which was competitively bid by the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the attached Agreement with Safeware, Inc., for the purchase of two (2) video surveillance trailers, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirteen Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars ($113,197.00), NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest, respectively, that certain agreement with Safeware, Inc., for the purchase of two (2) video surveillance trailers, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirteen Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars ($113,197.00), by relying upon U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance RFP Number 11-205753-10 (4400001839), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage. During times of natural or manmade disaster, fixed infrastructure is often damaged and/or not accessible. This creates a barrier to carry out such tasks in an efficient and effective manner. To overcome this barrier the Miami Gardens Police Department is proposing the purchase of two video surveillance trailers. The two trailers will come fully equipped with the technology to monitor remote locations through closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras mounted on a mast. These CCTV cameras will be viewed from the Real Time Crime Center during times of public safety need. The purchase of the trailers will be procured by piggybacking off RFP Number 11-205753-10 (4400001839), which was competitively established by the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance (U.S. Communities) lead agency, The County of Fairfax, Virginia. Council approved the use of said contract in the May 11, 2016 meeting. Funding for the trailers will be provided through the Urban Area Security Initiative disbursement.
