A RESOLUTION OE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT CONTINUE TO PROVIDE SCHOOL
CROSSING GUARDS FOR MIAMI GARDENS UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE IS PROVIDED; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council, recognizes the importance of keeping our children safe as
they walk to and from school; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to request that the Miami-Dade Police
Department continue to provide school crossing guard services to schools located within the
corporate boundaries of the City of Miami Gardens until further notice is provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Requesting to provide school crossing guards. The Miami-Dade County Police
Department is hereby authorized to continue school crossing service to the schools located
within the corporate boundaries of the City of Miami Gardens until further notice. The City shall
provide the police department with 45 days notice if it desires to terminate school crossing guard
service.
Section 2: Effective Date.

This Resolution shall become effective immediately
