A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, REAPPOINTING BEATRICE
CAZEAU, ESQ., TO SERVE AS LEGAL ADVISOR TO THE
UNSAFE STRUCTURES BOARD FOR A TWO (2) YEAR TERM;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council created the City of Miami Gardens Unsafe
Structures Board, (“the Board”), and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 28-68(l)(5) of the City of Miami Gardens
Code of Ordinances, the City Attorney is to recommend an attorney to advise the Board
for a term not to exceed two (2) years, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney recommends the City Council reappoint Beatrice
Cazeau, Esq., to serve as legal advisor to the Unsafe Structures Board for an additional
two (2) year term,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPOINTMENT: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby appoints Beatrice Cazeau, Esq., to serve as the legal advisor to the Unsafe
Structures Board for a term of two (2) years.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

Staff Summary:
On February 28, 2018 the City Council approved Resolution 2018-43-3356, sponsored by
Councilwoman Felicia Robinson, waiving the park rental fees for Rolling Oaks Park for the 2018 Mind
You Health 5k Walk/Run event in recognition of Mental Health in African American Community taking
place on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
Councilwoman Robinson is requesting the Resolution be amended to include a fee waiver for the use
of the Miami Gardens Show Mobile for this event.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think,
feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental
health is important at every stage of life, from childhood, adolescence and throughout adulthood, This
event will bring awareness to those who suffers from or knows someone who suffers from Mental
illness and is open and free to the public. Councilwoman Robinson has requested to sponsor Rolling
Oaks Park for the 2018’ Mind your health 5k Walk/Run..
Fiscal Impact
The cost for the rental of the show mobile is approximately $1,200 and staff time for the
transportation, set-up, and break down.
Proposed Action:
Recommend Council approval of the resolution in support of Councilwoman Felicia Robinson bringing
community awareness to Mental Health.
