A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO TYLER
TECHNOLOGIES, INC., FOR THE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT
AND LICENSES OF THE EDEN SOFTWARE PACKAGE, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FOUR THOUSAND,
ONE HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR DOLLARS AND
SEVENTY-THREE CENTS ($104,194.73), BY RELYING UPON
QUOTE #045-244541; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2005, the City Council adopted Resolution
Number 2005-169-346, which authorized the purchase of the Tyler Technologies'
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System (EDEN), and
WHEREAS, Tyler Technologies' Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System is
the primary Enterprise Resource System for City Departments, and
WHEREAS, the EDEN software package is deeply ingrained in the day-to-day
business operations of the City, and
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2005, City Council authorized the City Manager to
negotiate and contract with Tyler Technologies Inc., Eiden Division, for fully integrated
City-wide software system, in an amount not to exceed Six Hundred Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($650,000.00), and
WHEREAS, the agreement includes licenses, technical support and maintenance
for Tyler EDEN, and
WHEREAS, the cost for the maintenance in 2018 was Ninety -Eight Thousand
Seventeen Dollars and Thirty -Nine Cents ($98,017.39), and
WHEREAS, the cost for maintenance in 2019 is One Thousand Four Hundred,
One Hundred Ninety -Four Thousand and Seventy -Three Cents, ($104,194.73), an
increase of approximately six point three percent (6.3%) above last year's cost, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens has acquired Tyler Technologies'
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System (EDEN), as our primary ERP City wide
integrated software system, and
WHEREAS, the EDEN Software is proprietary software and the only company
that can service and maintain the ERP system is Tyler EDEN, and
WHEREAS, Tyler Technologies is the only one reasonable source to provide
maintenance for the City's ERP system, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
issue a purchase order to Tyler Technologies for the maintenance support and licenses
of the EDEN Software package in the amount of One Thousand Four Hundred, One
Hundred Ninety -Four Thousand and Seventy -Three Cents, ($104,194.73),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Tyler Technologies,
Inc., for the maintenance support and licenses of the EDEN software package, in an
amount not to exceed One Hundred Four Thousand, One Hundred Ninety -Four Dollars
and Seventy -Three Cents ($104,194.73), by relying upon Quote #045-244541.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
