A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION
SUBMITTED BY AKERMAN, LLC, FOR FOUR (4) REAL ESTATE
SIGNS TO BE ERECTED TEMPORARILY FOR ONE (1) YEAR
WITH A SIGN AREA OF 48 SQUARE FEET WHERE THE
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE IS 44 SQUARE FEET AND ONE (1)
ADDITIONAL REAL ESTATE SIGN TO BE ERECTED WITH A
SIGN AREA OF 512 SQUARE FEET WHERE THE MAXIMUM
ALLOWABLE IS 44 SQUARE FEET ON THE PROPERTY
LOCATED ALONG COUNTY LINE ROAD AND NW 47TH
AVENUE; FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Applicant, Akerman, LLC, is requesting a non-use variance of
Section 34-670(4) - Temporary Signs, on behalf of MG Westside LLC and MG East
LLC, and
WHEREAS, the request is to allow four (4) real estate signs to be erected with a
sign area of 48 square feet where the maximum allowable is 44 square feet, and to
allow one (1) additional real estate sign to be erected with a sign area of 512 square
feet where the maximum allowable is 44 square feet, and
WHEREAS, the signs are to be located along County Line Road and NW 47th
Avenue at the site of the Bridge Point Commerce Center, which is currently under
construction, and
WHEREAS, the intent is for the signs to be visible from the Turnpike which runs
alongside the property for over 2,800 linear feet, and
WHEREAS, the City's Planning and Zoning staff has reviewed the Application,
the Staff Report is attached hereto as Exhibit `B", and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends approval of this Resolution to allow a variance for
five (5) real estate signs on the property represented by Folio Numbers 34-1132-001-
0010, 34-1132-001-0015 and 34-1132-001-0021 ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby approves the application submitted by Akerman, LLC, for four (4) real estate signs
to be erected temporarily for one (1) year with a sign area of 48 square feet where the
maximum allowable is 44 square feet and one (1) additional real estate sign to be
erected with a sign area of 512 square feet where the maximum allowable is 44 square
feet on the property located along County Line Road and NW 47th Avenue.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 12, 2019.
