A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN IGHODARO'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN
THE AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS
($350.00), FOR THE NOBLE SOUTH FLORIDA CHAPTER BLACK
TIES AND BADGES GALA EVENT ON SATURDAY,
DECEMBER 7, 2019; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives
(NOBLE) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization that "serves as the
conscience of law enforcement by being committed to Justice by Action", and
WHEREAS, NOBLE describes itself as a progressive organization made up of a
diverse group of men and women, sworn and non-sworn, community members and
leaders, and
WHEREAS, NOBLE has nearly 60 chapters and represents more than 3,000
members worldwide, and
WHEREAS, NOBLE serves more than 60,000 youth through its major program
components which include: Mentoring, Education, Leadership Development, and
Safety, and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 7, 2019, the NOBLE South Florida Chapter
will host its annual fundraising gala event: Black Ties & Badges Gala, and
WHEREAS, this event will honor and recognize individuals, community-based
organizations, and corporate entities for their achievements in leadership and
commitment to the community, and
WHEREAS, funds raised during the event will go toward scholarships, youth
mentoring, and community outreach initiatives provided by NOBLE, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Erhabor Ighodaro is requesting a sponsorship in the
amount of Three Hundred and Fifty-Dollars ($350.00) from his Public Affairs Special
Events Account to assist with offsetting the costs associated with hosting the 4th Annual
Black Ties & Badges Gala,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Councilman Ighodaro's Public Affairs Account in the
amount of Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($350.00), for the Noble South Florida
Chapter Black Ties and Badges Gala event on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 13, 2019.
