Staff Summarv Backqround The City Council approved a line of credit to purchase new and replacement vehicles and heavy equipment for the City departments. One of the equipment listed included a Parks Department requirement for a piece of equipment which is capable of mowing, trenching for irrigation, spreading fertilizer etc. that will not damage the turf while in operation. An all wheel steer is capable of all of the functions and allows the equipment to maneuver on the field without damaging the turF. Analvsis: Staff prepared the specifications to purchase equipment capable of the required needs and functions and advertised on November 9, 2007. A broadcast notice was sent to 126 vendors. Eleven vendors requested bid packages. The bids were opened on November 29, 2007. Two bids were received and publicity read. A copy of the bid document and submittals are available at the assistant to the mayor and council's office for review. The tabulation sheet is attached as Exhibit "A". K-10) CONSENT AGENDA Issue Purchase Order for purchase of an All Wheel Steer Loader The apparent low bid was evaluated for compliance with the specifications, their equipment is not an "all wheel" and therefore non-responsive. The second bid was also evaluated for compliance with the specifications and the ability of the equipment to perform the required work without damaging the fields. The equipment met all requirements. Recommendation: That the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Bobcat of Metro Dade, located in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, in an amount of $69,958.42 which includes the extended warranty. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2. AWARD OF BID: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby awards a bid to Bobcat of Metro Dade in the amount of $69,958.42 for the purchase of an All Wheel Steer, to include an extended warranty. Section 3. AUTHORIZATION: The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order in the amount of $69,958.42 to Bobcat of Metro Dade. Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
